How on earth did we wind up growing so many
different violets? We have no idea. But we do think violets are very
special plants.
Plant lovers in Europe, Japan, Australia
and New Zealand please note: We can ship violets to you only when they are
dormant, in late autumn. This is because your laws insist that all plants
imported be completely bare-root. |

Viola
verecunda A. Gray. ツボスミレ
(Japanese, "Pot violet"). This
is an exceptionally small Japanese woodland violet (verecunda
means "modest"). It is very popular as a house plant. The flowers are pale mauve with maroon or
purple guidelines, the leaves densely packed and waxy. Native across much
of E Asia. |
