Lamiophlomis rotata  (Bentham ex J. D. Hooker) Kudô. 独一味 Du yi wei (Chinese). The sole member of its genus, this prostrate denizen of stony ground in W China and the Himalaya is sometimes considered part of Phlomis. It makes a fascinating rock-garden plant, with corrugated leaves in a flat rosette and dense mounds or spikes of  blue or purple flowers in late summer. In Tibet [Xizang] the root is used in traditional medicine to treat swelling and pain after trauma.

Pot (4"/ 10 cm). $5.00
