Kirengeshoma palmata Yatabe. 黄山梅 Huang shan mei (Chinese); キレンゲショウマ 種子
Kirengeshiyouma
(Japanese). This waist-high, shade-loving herbaceous plant with large yellow bells, maple-like leaves and purple stalks blooms in early autumn. It grows in moist spots at low elevations in eastern China and Japan. A closely related taxon with flared flowers (bottom picture) is native to the Korean Peninsula. We have Kirengeshoma palmata Koreana group in our garden but are not offering it yet. Zone 5.

Blooming-size plant. In Canada, C$10.00; elsewhere US$9.00.
