Geranium
transversale (Kar. & Kir.) Vved. 'Rose Foundling'. This is a
unique, bright, deep pink form of the normally pallid
tuberous species native to Central Asia, W Siberia and N China. Equally
riveting are its large, asterisk-like leaves with 7-9 linear lobes. This cultivar
descends from a plant found in the Aktash mountains in Uzbekistan. With
us, it blooms in April-May. The pallid form is shown in Bulbs by
Phillips and Rix. Zone 5, perhaps colder.
Pot 10 cm / 4" or tuber. In Canada,
C$12.00; elsewhere US$11.00.
