Antennaria microphylla in our rock garden. When these new buds open fully, their common name will seem inevitable.  Photograph © Pat Woodward.

Antennaria alpina

Our picture ~ please click to enlarge it ~ shows  Antennaria alpina (wider leaves) with A. microphylla in our rock garden. These silvery creepers, covered with fine hairs, make a groundcover so elegant that flowers can seem excessive. The flowers of A. alpina are cream-colored. Sometimes we just snip them off.

Antennaria neglecta
