HOW TO ORDER
|
|
|
|
Thank you for ordering from Pacific Rim.
Please note 4 big changes for
2008.
- This year we are shipping only in the
autumn. The deadline for ordering is Aug. 31, but quantities are small
and it’s first come, first served.
- Our prices are now in $Canadian only;
the $US is too volatile. For customers outside Canada, credit-card
payment in other currencies will be converted to $Canadian. To check
exchange rates, we recommend www.oanda.com/convert/classic
- We have rolled back our minimum order to
$50 Canadian before taxes and shipping charges.
- We have dispensed with an order form.
Just tell us what you want.

Ordering step by step ~
the master plan!
- You send us your order by email, fax or post. Aug.
31 is the deadline. Please
be specific. Say how many you want of
each plant. Provide a street address; couriers will not deliver to a
Post Office box. Give your postal code; shipping charges
are based on plant weight and postal code. Our address
etc. are here.
- We fax or (preferably) email you what is available and how much to pay, shipping
and other costs included.
- You pay for your order, reserving your
plants.
- We ship your plants in the fall.

Special conditions
We offer discounts on
many British Columbia
native plants for BC public schools and BC non-profit environmental
organizations.
We no longer sell wholesale. We have too few of each plant
on hand to make that
practical. But of course, the price may change if you require a large quantity of one species.
For special projects, contract growing, restoration, schoolgrounds,
green roofs, ethnobotany,
phytoremediation or scientific research, please get in touch to discuss
your needs.

Guarantee
We guarantee that our plants are true to name and
healthy when they are shipped. We can't guarantee that they will grow in
your care ~ too much depends on conditions beyond our control. If
our plants are plainly not growable when they arrive, or not true to name when
they grow, let us know promptly and we will refund your money.

|
|
Shipping dates
In 2008 we are shipping only between late
August and November.
|
|
|
|
Shipping methods
We usually ship by airmail or courier. In Canada only, we can also ship by bus to your
nearest bus station. This is useful if you live where couriers do
not normally venture.
|
|
|
|
Shipping and handling charges
- Our minimum shipping charge is C$10.00.
- This does not mean that shipping will always
cost $10.00. Heavy parcels travelling far will naturally
cost more.
- If your plants must be shipped absolutely
bare-root (as some regions and countries require), we must also charge
for cleaning and special packing.

|
|
|
Delivery of large
orders
Temperature-controlled trucking and air freight can be arranged.
|
|
|
|
Pickup at the
nursery
You may pick up your order between May 1 and Oct. 1, by appointment.
Please give us several weekdays' notice. Contact information, driving
directions and such are on our Address page.

Phytosanitary certificates
and import regulations
International customers require a phytosanitary certificate to import plants
and bulbs from Canada. We arrange this at cost, currently C$17.00.
We suggest that several people might club together to place
an order to one address, which would require only one phytosanitary
certificate.
If you have special requirements,
please tell us. You are responsible for
knowing your country's import regulations. For example:
- Do you require an import permit? If so,
please send us a copy to enclose with the phytosanitary
certificate.
- Must plants be bare-root (roots washed
clean)?
- Must plants be dormant?
- Are some species forbidden entry to your
country?
|
|
|
|
Payment
Plants must be paid for when ordered,
unless other arrangements have been agreed upon.
We accept
cheques on Canadian banks, and Visa and Mastercard.
