website gives some plant names in Japanese and Chinese characters as well
as the Roman alphabet. We do this to include plant-lovers who speak those
languages.
If you see boxes or question marks in plant
names, your computer is unable to reproduce the Asian characters. The
remedy is to download a Japanese or Simplified Chinese font for your
operating system (e.g. Mac, Windows, Linux). These require a lot of
memory, though, so unless you can read Chinese or Japanese, you might
prefer to just ignore the boxes and question marks. |
