These
are wild hyacinths, as fragrant as the big Dutch H. orientalis
cultivars, but rarer and more refined.
If
you like Hyacinthus, be sure to look also at Bellevalia,
Camassia,
Fessia, Hyacinthoides,
Muscari
and Scilla.

Hyacinthus
transcaspicus Litvinov. Sometimes called Hyacinthella transcaspica.
This species is native to mountains from S Turkmenistan to NE Iran. It
blooms as the
snow melts in May-June. Height 5-10 cm
(2-4"). Zone 6, perhaps colder.
