MEET ANI, OUR AKBASH DOG

Ani came to us in August 2007 as a rescue. The luck was ours. She is an Akbash, bred to guard Turkish sheep from wolves. Since we have no sheep, she guards us. Soon after she arrived, she gave a black bear the fright of its life.

Ani is nonetheless a dog of good will, specially gentle with small children. Older people and other animals just need to be introduced to her by someone she trusts. We have posted a sign on our gate announcing Ani's presence. If you haven't met her before, we will be happy to bring her to the gate on a leash to make friends with you.
